Fine & Country expands into Mid West Cornwall with latest UK licence
Fine & Country is proud to announce the launch of its Mid West Cornwall licence, officially beginning its journey with the brand on 1st October 2025. Led by Directors John Holman and Mark Willson, newly appointed Associate James Shead and General Manager Harriette Thompson drive the business day to day.
This expansion represents a significant opportunity to bring Fine & Country’s globally recognised premium marketing expertise to one of the UK’s most desirable coastal regions. Covering large parts of both the north and south Cornish coast, the Mid West Cornwall office will focus on showcasing the area’s most prestigious homes to a national and international audience.
Holman said: “The opportunity to expand into a wider area with Fine & Country was too good to miss. We already run a very well-established estate agency with enormous knowledge and experience of the upper quartile market in our area. Combining this expertise with Fine & Country’s marketing power is a very strong proposition.”
The property market in Cornwall currently reflects a buyers’ market, with plenty of choice available. Well-presented homes priced correctly continue to sell, but transactions require determination and expertise to see through to a successful conclusion. Fine & Country Mid West Cornwall is focused on the upper quartile, where the average price sits at £1.15 million, with properties over £700,000 forming the core of its portfolio. At the very top end, the office has just launched an iconic coastal property at £8.5 million where the late Queen Mother used to come ashore from the Royal Yacht Britania to visit the original owner, a close friend of hers.
“In this part of the market, we work with a diverse mix of buyers and sellers – high net worth individuals and business owners, lawyers, those successful in finance and banking, people from entertainment, and retirees.” Willson explained. “It’s an incredibly dynamic sector, and Cornwall’s natural beauty and lifestyle continue to attract buyers not only from across the UK but from overseas as well. People know the brand already and we are very excited about growing Fine & Country in Cornwall and believe there is a fantastic opportunity here. With our local expertise and Fine & Country’s international reach, we are perfectly positioned to serve this unique market.”
The region includes some of Cornwall’s best-known destinations, with Falmouth, Truro, Newquay, Rock, Padstow, Port Isaac and St Mawes all within its reach. For Holman, the decision to partner with Fine & Country was clear. “The marketing is fantastic, and we love the business model, which encourages collaboration, support and shared learning across the network. The national and international coverage is also very important, especially as many upper quartile buyers in our area are overseas.”
With a background in selling properties across the full spectrum, including multi-million-pound homes, Holman sees Fine & Country as the ideal partner to elevate his team’s reach and impact. “Fine & Country offers us the chance to apply our knowledge and expertise over a much wider area. For sellers, it’s about premium marketing and global exposure; for buyers, it’s about access to some of Cornwall’s finest properties.”
Jonathan Handford, Interim Managing Director of Fine & Country UK, commented: “Fine & Country already has an established and highly experienced network of offices across the South West of England. The addition of our Mid West Cornwall team further strengthens this operation, ensuring that our premium service and international reach are available to even more clients in this unique and highly desirable market.”
