iamproperty launches brand new survey module for estate agents

A NEW Survey module designed to speed up the Conveyancing process and reduce the risk of residential property transactions falling through has been launched by iamproperty as the latest innovation to their movebutler platform.

The new module encourages surveys as early as possible in the transaction, to help raise any issues that may cause problems later on, bringing more information upfront. This will make transactions faster and more secure, benefitting all parties and enabling agents to get paid quicker.

Agents can also benefit from the additional revenue stream it offers, with a Referral Fee on all completed surveys available.

iamproperty movebutler connects buyers and sellers with a UK-wide network of over 300 RICs-qualified Chartered Surveyors and appointments can be requested digitally. The surveyors will offer advice on which survey is right for them, with options available including RICS Home Survey Level 2 (Survey Only), RICS Home Survey Level 2 (Survey and Valuation), and RICS Home Survey Level 3. Progress is tracked within movebutler, keeping all parties up to date.

This is the second update to movebutler so far this year, following enhancements to its Legal Preparation module. movebutler is a modular platform combining AML Compliance, upfront Material Information, Legal Preparation and Conveyancing. The addition of Surveys is providing vendors with more of the tools they need to progress their transaction smoothly.

Ben Ridgway, Co-Founder of iamproperty, said: “Our Partner Agents trust us to keep movebutler up to date in line with their evolving needs, and our continuous development ethos meant that Surveys was the natural next step. Vendors are connected with a choice of surveyors thanks to an industry-leading surveyor partnership with the ISO 901:2015 Quality Assurance accreditation. It is all about helping to move surveys to earlier in the process, for the benefit of the transaction for all parties.

“Combined with its other features including onboarding, Compliance, Material Information and Conveyancing, movebutler is standing out as the clear choice for agents who are looking for a tool that helps them to get their clients moving faster and improves the buying and selling experience.”

Generation Rent: Private renters still waiting for warmer homes rules

PRESS RELEASE: Responding to the lack of update from the government in today’s Powering Up Britain announcements about proposals to increase minimum energy efficiency standards in the private rented sector, Dan Wilson Craw, Acting Director of Generation Rent, said:

“Private renters are more likely to be in fuel poverty than social tenants and owner occupiers but government plans to insulate their homes have been gathering dust for more than two years now. Today’s strategy was a missed opportunity to give landlords a timeline to bring homes up to standard, but everyone is still in the dark, and renters face more winters in damp, draughty homes.

“The government should use this time to decide how to speed up the retrofit of private rented homes once new rules are in place. For example, grants are available for low income households but renters can’t be expected to apply for them if their landlord can simply raise the rent or evict them to cash in on the upgraded property.”
