PROPTECH-X : Fine & Country team takes on the Cambridge Half Marathon to support life-changing causes

Charity is combating homelessness and responding to urgent need.

On Sunday 8 March 2026, a determined team of five runners will be lacing up their trainers to take on the Cambridge Half Marathon, all in support of The Fine & Country Foundation and its vital work combating homelessness and responding to urgent need.

Representing both Fine & Country and The Guild of Property Professionals, the team includes Wesley Barnard and Adie McCarthy-Jones from the Fine & Country head office, alongside Dolly Nelson and Robert Walker from The Guild, and Katie Stevens. Together, they will tackle the 13.1-mile course with a shared goal: to raise funds and awareness for The Fine & Country Foundation and the life-changing projects it supports.

The Foundation has long been at the heart of Fine & Country’s charitable efforts, remaining steadfast in its mission to combat homelessness while also extending support to communities facing crisis in the UK and internationally. Since its inception in 2014, The Fine & Country Foundation has raised and donated more than £1 million to causes making a tangible difference on the ground, an extraordinary milestone made possible by the unwavering fundraising efforts of the entire Fine & Country network.

Commenting on his decision to take part, Wesley Barnard, (pictured) Head of PR at Fine & Country, said: “Working for Fine & Country, I’ve had a front row seat to the extraordinary impact The Foundation has made over the past few years. I’ve seen how vital funding has helped rebuild a village in Nepal, supported grassroots charities through critical moments, and provided hope and practical help to people who need it most. These aren’t abstract stories – they’re real lives changed through collective action and generosity.”

Adie McCarthy-Jones, Business Development Manager at Fine & Country, adds: “I’ve always enjoyed keeping fit, and taking on a half marathon felt like the right challenge this year. Doing it in support of The Fine & Country Foundation makes it even more meaningful. It’s a charity I care about, and I hope the event helps raise valuable funds for those who will benefit. I’m really looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic day in Cambridge with my work family.”

While running a half marathon is no small feat, the team is keenly aware that the physical challenge they face is minor compared to the daily struggles experienced by those The Foundation supports. This race is another platform to give something back, standing alongside the individuals and organisations working tirelessly to create lasting, meaningful change.

Funds raised through events like the Cambridge Half Marathon are distributed via The Foundation’s biannual grant schemes, held each spring and autumn. Through nominations from the Fine & Country network, local charities and organisations can receive grants of up to £3,000, funding that can be truly transformative at a community level. These programmes ensure that support reaches those who need it most, empowering charities to continue their essential work supporting, protecting and uplifting vulnerable people.

If you’re able to donate, you won’t just be helping five runners cross the finish line in Cambridge. You’ll be supporting life-changing work, strengthening communities, and helping ensure The Fine & Country Foundation can continue making a meaningful difference for years to come.
